well i just got my 4gb card through the day only to find out it doesnt work. put it in the camera and came up " cf error". its also quite stiff going into the slot.
though when i put it in my card reader and attach it to the pc it does show up as a 4gb card.
cant take any chances though. i will have to send it back down to them. dammit

Or you could try formatting the card in the PC card reader. Have you tried reseating the card in the camera?

I assume other cards work ok in your camera? Make sure you aren't forcing the CF card when you say it is quite stiff, you don't want to bend the pins.

What make of card did you get?

As the two posts above say try formatting it and if it doesn't work then I would send it back for an exchange. Never had any problems with mine (dane-elec) straight out the packet.

I have one that is a bit hard to insert and take out (not one of these; another card I've had a while). Not sure you can really do anything about it. I guess it is just a tollerances thing on individual cards, or maybe accidentally one has double stickers so a tad thicker.

yeah thanks guys for the suggestions though. glad its working.
one thing i noticed though, not really complaining though considering the price. i took a few shots in raw (as i always shoot in raw) not burst shots but just a shot after a shot, and it takes a while to display on the lcd compared to my kingston elite pro. one thing i dont get though is the kingston pro only says 50x on the sticker on the card whereas this cheap one says 133x.
doesnt that mean this cheaper one should be faster, or am i getting read and write speeds mixed up somehow

It's because of the amount of re-branded stickers that are on them:lol:

They just peel them off depending to which continent they are headed for:D :D

Has anyone seen the MyMemory Version?

I posted a link within the Market Place Forums.

Cheers

Carl, those batteries are decent. I have a pair for back up. Why not post that offer under a new thread as more people will benefit?
