I've been posting on the forums for 2 weeks now and I need to thank you all for the great advice. I just want to introduce myself before another person says, "who the hell is this stupid girl!"

I'm a fine art student at the University of Utah
I plan on majoring in photography - used to be graphic design
I'm 23 years old
Married
No children
I spent the last 3 years in real estate as a realtor and escrow officer. I quit real estate to go back to college and finish the fine art program.
My father says I'll be a starving artist but my sweet husband supports me 100%
I'm currently taking a sculpture class and painting class. I start my photography classes Fall 2007.

Also, I just wanted to share my wedding photos taken October 13, 2006 (Friday the 13th) at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Credit for the photos given to Mike Blommer.

Heh, welcome. I've been posting for a while now, and never made a formal introduction. I'll hijack your thread and do mine here too!

I'm a graphic design student at Malaspina University (Nanaimo, BC, Canada)
We don't major in this program, but I'm considering continuing my program to a degree or going to a different school for GD or photography
I'm 21 years old
I'm not married, but am in a long term relationship
No children, yet
I spent the last 2 years working in a pro photo lab/camera store. I also spent almost two years at Simon Fraser University in Engineering.
My father says I'll be a brilliant artist if I don't forget my engineering and my boyfriend wants me to support him so he can go back to school.
I'm currently taking design, illustration and photography classes.

Some additional stuff of my own:
I've been a photographer since I was 3 or 4 years old.
I've been a designer since I could hold a crayon.
I love Canon's equipment and abuse it a little too much.
I love puppies! My parents currently have two standard poodles which I love to pieces, but sadly I can't have my own where I live right now.

Welcome! Love your pics, looks like it was a beautiful day.

I'm Kaylene, grew up in Utah (Logan, American Fork, and SLC) and now live in Houston (for the past 4 1/2 years). I've been married almost 6 years to my sweet hubby, and have two very busy little boys, almost 5 and 2. I'm just starting out in the wedding business, I've just shot my first two weddings, and am interning with a wedding photography company, so I shoot second until I get a bit more experience. Though I have been seriously shooting and working very hard on PP (RAW and photoshop) for just over a year.

Looking forwards to getting to know you better. :)

Welcome MrsOpie!

I have been posting for quite a while - a formal introduction, what a great idea! Why didn't I think of that?

The people here on this forum are fantastic. Of course, you will run into the odd a-hole, but, that is given on any forum open to the public.

The lessons I have learned here are absolutely invaluable and I think you will feel the same way.

How long have you been into photography?

Gee, I'm 26 and you young ladies make me look old! I'll start hanging out more with Tom (Belmondo) if it continues that way!

i never did it either.. so i might as well. :) good thread!

i'm gen, 28, living in downtown chicago. about to get married in november of this year (and super excited), no kids (except for a cat and 7 pound dog), have been shooting since i received my first point and shoot (don't remember the age), got my first SLR at the age of 17, started shooting portraits and fashion at the age of 18 and have continued ever since...and have worked with some incredible photographers in chicago!

been lurking in these forums for what seems like eternity (although it's only been months), reading every thread possible to prepare myself for my first wedding, and am beyond appreciative for the advice and support i've received on here.

:)

Ok, I'll jump on the bandwagon and introduce myself, too. :)

My name is Teresa and I'm addicted to this forum!

I volunteered to photograph a friend's wedding on the 24th of this month and have been trying to learn everything I can about wedding photography. If I hadn't voluteered to do so, the only photos they would have are snapshots from family members' point and shoot cameras. And I'm sure they'll still have plenty of those. And this my gift to the couple.

That said, I think I could really get the wedding photography bug and possibly turn this into a business. We'll see how I feel about that in a couple of weeks.
