I just received my first edition of Darkroom, the Lightroom user magazine published by Scott Kelby and the guys at NAPP. I must say...I was a bit skeptical as to what all I could glean from this magazine because I am pretty familiar with using LR now; however...

They had an article in this first edition on tethered shooting and they tell you how to use LR with it and give you all the details of setting it up.

I did it and it is great and opens up wonderfully new possibilities for me to do some controlled location shooting.

Chock one up for the NAPP guys again...definitely worth my $99 a year (just in BH photo shipping savings alone).:D

How did you order that magazine? I just joined NAPP and just received my starter kit this week.

You should receive the current issues of all NAPP magazines (i.e. PS user and Darkroom). When in doubt, call them. They are very helpful and I am sure they will get you the current issues since you are a member now.

I am about to renew my NAPP subscription. It is MOS DEF a great asset. You get access to their helpdesk among a ton of other perks. (Free shipping from B&H being the best one)

The more I hear and read I think I'm going to be joining NAPP. I'm now a Lightroom user and long time Photoshop user. As I get more into digital photography I see the need for good tech tips and resources.

I've been subscribed to Photoshop TV for a while now and have learned a lot, but large portions of the podcasts are for advertising and chatter. That's one thing I don't care for but the Photoshop guys (Scott K, Matt K, etc) are great and really know their s*it.

Additionally I would absolutely be taking advantage of the free shipping at B&H.

Well worth the money for all the reasons mentioned and more. Saved me $20 off the LR seminar fee recently. Just re-upped for another year.

With the price of magazine subscriptions being what they are today I think the $99 for a year is really worth it.

What I read is that Darkroom will only be coming with the Photoshop User mag.
