Since guls tend to hover a lot and fly slowly, they are good for beginners with marginal equipment to practice on. That makes them a good choice for PetKal.

Nice shootin'!

Thank you Curtis.
You see laddie, I have no photographer's pride, if chickens would be the only thing I could shoot in flight, I'd be shooting them chickens all day.
Thank you for making me lough.;)

I need to post one, just to see how my skills compare with the BIF-master.

I think that's a lovely, clean/crisp shot.

I do it all the time Any larger specie that flocks in large numbers near good shooting spots. Birds must be regularly in motion. I use mallard,Canada goose and ringbill gull. Good for building reflex and experimenting with camera settings for speed. These outings when I burn cards of gulls coming and going let me figure my hit/miss average when I download. Overall shooting speed on larger birds has made me better with small birds in motion. Ringbilled gulls have helped me catch Bonaparte's.

Sounds to me like a very good system, Sam.
Then one can advance to more challenging birds like Least Terns, Swallows, Passerines and dragonflies.
Practice makes perfect.

Thank you, sir. By the way, I flashed him, which I think helped brighten up his underside nicely.
