Yeah. I found a little room in the garage for it, so I figured, "What the heck."

I had the 500 f/4L IS for a while, and sold it. I've regretted doing that ever since, but also decided it didn't make a lot of sense to buy another one. What's left?

It arrives Monday.

Ahh, tell us how the new Sigma 200-500/2.8 zoom works and whether you miss having IS.

Sorry to hear about that.. maybe a new garage is in order?

You guys are dangerous to hang around. Y'all make me want a 300/2.8 ISL even though I have no real or IMAGINED use for it. :p

Not even close to imagined. I've got a view from the city nest, but it looks out onto a deserted, blacked out office block at night..

I suppose unless one has tasted the 600 f/4IS, one can not say they've had the Canon's best.:D

Pete...you would understand this better than most, but the older I get, the more I feel the need to have my lenses do the walking for me. I want to be able to sit in my living room, and take a picture of something miles away through the window. It eliminates all that unpleasant exercise.

Naw, one of those custom-built 5000mm lenses that pop up every now and then (like for NASA).
