I have found that with my 20D, AWB is wrong more than it is right. It would be very wise to set the white balance to a single setting instead of using AWB.

You could even make all your .JPG files come out right by doing a Custom White Balance setup at the beginning of the series. I often do that since I shoot RAW plus large JPG.

AWB sucks IMO. I only use it outside, when light is changing, *and* I shoot Raw.
Otherwise always manual WB or CWB.

The specifications for your strobes should tell you the color temperature of the flashtube. I use Alien Bees, which operate at 5600 degrees K. I shoot RAW and typically set my white balance to K (color temperature) and set the actual temperature for ~5900 or 6000 degrees K. This warms things up a little in camera and looks more natural and pleasing.
