Yet another teaser, an example of the Share Intro and Signature Shot 2-page layout.
(And note that this is just an example, so items on the page don't necessarily match each other. But it gives a good idea of what each 2-page spread will look like in the book.)

IMAGE: http://www.itsanadventure.com/postimages/ShareIntro_and_SigShot_4.jpg

On the left, the gradient band lists the Share title, and the description of the Share as listed in the POTN main page. The center of this page holds the text & info for the Signature shot, the "winningest" photos in each Share's public vote, which has a full-page for display of the photo on the right page. At the bottom of the left page is one of the winning Quotes, as determined by the Quotes Contest that we held so long ago.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Great photo and thanks for the update, the book is looking wonderful.

Did you have to spoil it by pretending winningest was a word. :)

I just want to to add my 2 cents worth in regards to the bird section.

The selected signature shot can hold its own with any photo in any contest.

I wish I could call it my own.

Much appreciated but I couldn't have done it without those excellent fishing skills!

I'm really looking foward to seeing seeing the finished book

Quick question? Is the book background going to be white? or a grey color? because I think it would look much nicer with a darker color background to bring out the photos more. Also this helps prevent your eye from making the picture seem darker because of the white surrounding. just my 2 cents.

White... as an 'art' book it was felt that white pages would look better, flick back a page and you can see sample layouts.

Wow...is this every starting to look like something special!!!

Just wondering...is there any sort of timetable for a release date?

Thanks, and thanks to all that have worked so hard to get to this point!

I'm assuming that the blurb under Still Life/Experimental is just place holder text as it refers to motorsport?

Yes, this is just an example. The photo refers to Birds. to add to the mix.

Parm,

We had hoped to be ready to publish by the end of this month but getting the layout, the PS work for layout, the final images (some people STILL have NOT submitted their images!) is taking longer than we had hoped. Realistically by the end of June is a good aiming point....

Post a new competion. 24 hour comp. 1 day to get images in. 1 day to poll. The winners must produce full res images and blurbs on 3rd day. 3 days total, and you'll have the winning images. Also the images will be from deserving active forum members who put their time in, and return the required images when needed. :) (or yeah, just use the next best ranked people.. if they're still around.. probably fairer that way.. whoops)

Design is looking good :D

Just a quick update..

We now have all the images submitted and are slogging away at building all the page templates.... all the layouts and formats have been agreed!

In the end we could not get hold of 7 of the selected images for whatever reason. We agreed that the Book Committee would pick replacement images from those submitted. These have been submitted now (thanks to the great response from those 7 whose images were picked!)

Things are moving on but this phase will take a bit of time.. bear with us.
