Try an asterik after the 07; the lens you list isn't on that list. I know, because I checked it too.

Type this exactly in the search: *psmay07*

FWIW, there is no 7-2f4IS in their psmay discount, but there is an instant rebate off their normal price.

I just got off the phone with a B&H representative, and the instant rebates will NOT be applied to their "specials".

That information was incorrect and I apologize for the error

Nice!, all qualifying lenses in the psmay specials have the rebates deducted already from the price. There are some sweet deals for the 70-200 2.8 IS, 17-55 & 85 1.2 lenses.

So what, BH screwed up at the beginning, at least now they've rectified the situation and currently have the best deals available.

Amazon.com has the exact same prices as yesterday and a week ago on several of the lenses I checked. They acknowledge the instant rebate in each case and claim that their price includes the rebate. They are simply pocketing the entire rebate!

B&H, on the other hand, is applying the rebate to their regular prices although not to prices listed under PSMAY07 with one exception: the 70-200 f2.8L IS (US version) is listed without any mention of rebate at just $1499 which is $100 less than their regular price with rebate.

Where did you see $1499 for the 70-200 2.8 IS. I went to purchase it today at B&H and it was $1699.00...so I went with 17th Street Photo because they were $100 cheaper.

$HIT...I just pissed away $100 (+ an additional $52 for 2-day shipping) at 17th Street. This sucks...why couldn't I have seen this thread ONE DAY earlier.

is this just B&H? checked other websites and they don't have them, and B&H's site has "B&H exclusive rebate" after the items... wonder if this is really through canon, or if its just a B&H thing?

edit: looks like Amazon has it (direct from Amazon) but beach/buydig don't... Adorama does as well. Damn NY stores...

The rebate form can be downloaded directly from Canon here:

http://www.usa.canon.com …troller?act=PromotionsAct (external link)

I bought the 70-200 f/4 IS yesterday at B&H. With the rebate it was $985.

If you download the rebate form, any retailer would have to honor it. (But there's no reason to buy anywhere but B&H now that they are in fact honoring the rebate and have not raised the prices.)

Yah, I'd agree with that to some extent. So long as their prices are lower and the service is as good as other places, I won't totally write them off. But if the price is just as good at some other e-tailer, I personally will give my business to them now because I think B&H just needs to be kept honest. If there was no other competition, I think they'd be tempted to pull pranks like this again.

I'm, uh, from NY and don't want to pay the sales tax upfront (but i'm always diligent to keep track of all items purchased out of state and declare them on my State Tax Forms every year... ;)) so will usually order form buydig.com or beachcamera.com (yes, I know that they're the same) as they have just about the same prices as B&H but are located in NJ.
