Just received a brand spanking new Exped 7 from B&H. Looks great, feels great, but smells like an ash tray!

Anybody else notice a similar odor with your Tamrac?

My Exp. 7 didn't smell like an ashtray - it was wrapped all in plastic... I wonder why it would smell like that??

I'm thinking the plastics and rubber type stuff on the clear pockets inside the main compartment.

I just took a big whiff of the plastic pockets and they really stink.

How old is your Expedition 7? Maybe it will wear off after a few days, weeks...!

lol.

I got my exp. 7 from b&H and I cannot recall any smelly issues. Though, it did have that unique new bag smell. Just not an ash try smell.

It should were off in a few days I would imagine.

I just sent an email off to Tamrac with a link to this thread. Perhaps they can provide an explanation and remedy.

Try spraying it with something like Fabreze and let it air out good for a couple of days.

Leave it open in the sun for a day or two. That should take care of it. The Fabreze wouldn't hurt either.
Good luck.

haha just had a good sniff. Mine is over a year old and it still smells of plastic! Its still strong as well!

Maybe Tamrac have started spraying their bags to smell differently and they mixed the smell wrong! ?? DEMAND A NEW BAG!
