I got this new lens and it gives a new definition to AF - Absolutely Fantastic! I just wish the magnification would show on Exif data. In case you didn't know the MP-E 65mm f/2.8 doesn't have AF (auto focus)
Here are a couple of photos I took hand held with my new macro lens 580ex flash and my 5D with no cropping just resized with a little USM

I have no idea what it is ???

Nice work! You'll love the MPE. It's amazing.

I think the first one is a katydid. I don't know anything about the rest.

A little tip: The effective aperture scales with the magnification. So, at 5x, f/16 (your last shot), you'll be getting TONS of diffraction (something like the equivalent of f/60!). I never shoot above f/9 when I'm at 2x, f/7.1 to 3x, and f/5.6 throughout the rest of the range.

apart from 'Micro Moth' they seem a bit oversaturated for my taste. #1 is a Cricket nymph, very fancy one at that.

AirBrontosaurus,
Thanks, and yea I know about the f/stops being really small at the higher magnifications but honestly I need the DOF. It barely has enough DOF at f/16 ;)

racketman,
They were taken in Faithful with saturation +1 no color adjustments in software. However I did have the flash set between -1/3 to -2/3 which can make the color a bit deeper but my eyes like them.

You'll love that combination, I too have the 5D with an MP-E65 glued to it, using an 580ex flash. here is a small Damselfly.

Dusty,
We made an under the counter cash deal
No, seriously he was just patient and flew away as soon as the flash fired.
Now this fly was a lot harder and wasn't as helpful

Excellent series- obviously enjoying the lens :)
As others have commented a bit more saturated than we normally see.
