I'm trying to get some photos from my friend (if he has comparisons). But I'd much rather see photos of one of the other major sins, especially LUST ;)

So far, this thread isn't delivering. :(

Yeah, I noticed.

I better go do some research -- When I was young, those names were atop the heap; maybe something bad happened and I just said something incredibly stupid in a place where it matters.

....as the OP slinks away, having comitted blasphemy by accident....

No pictures here so far, so I'll start. I'm just a casual photog and do not own any Zeiss or Leica lenses because they are just beyond my means. But there's other goodies in the relatively obscure brands.

Cosina is not a good brand name to most, but the factory is apparently making Zeiss lenses at this stage. In the past it used to manufacture the line of luxury Voigtlander SLR lenses.

Here's a few sample shots (crops and FF), out of the Voigtlander 125mm f/2.5SL APO Lanthar Macro. Not the best shots by any stretch, but they're here for you to judge, dust spots and all. The lens has delivered pleasing results, time after time:

Technically, yes. Far from exotic, though. Nice shots, though!

Where'd you get the Super Mario Sunshine?

thanks. Mario's from Tokyo, my former boss got it for me from there. hard to believe a superzoom sporting a F/2.0-2.8 eh? pity about the noise the CCD generates though...

Well, the PP was nothing complicated. The photos were shot in RAW and then converted to JPEG in Digital Photo Professional. For the most part, I just needed to tweak the WB, pull the exposure back a little (on occasion), and choose the Picture Style that I believe works best. Landscape picture style gives really nice saturated colors (sometimes making reds look unnatural) but on the odd photo, Portrait works well also.

Fearlessly, help us explore whether there is there something beyond L-coholism!

If so, I'll bet it is scary good work, for only a dedicated pro would own the glass, and I, for one, would love to see it!

Sure, but they were taken with a Sinar F1 4x5 and a 90mm Super Angulon XL. ;) print to 8x10 and it's hyper-real... ;)

man if I could get my Leica 90mm APO-SUMMICRON asph. to fit on my 5D that would just be amazing... for a reasonable price tag that is...

Canon 5D \ Grip \ EF-S 17-40mm f4L \ EF 24-70mm f/2.8L \ 70-200mm f/4L \ 50mm 1.4 USM \ blah, blah, blah...

How about some Hassleblad examples?

Hahaha yeah right that would be the day when a normal lens costs as much as a 1D MKIII. I think everyone here is too cheap to have one for because collectively we are shocked when a 50mm f1.0 L is sold for $3500!
