Found out I'm not doing this shoot until fall, so I'm thinking just about any park will do. Grant Park in South Milwaukee should have plenty of opportunities. Any other location suggestions would be terrific though!

Hello, I'm in Oconomowoc, WI. I was wondering if anyone knows of any camera/photography clubs out here. None of my friends are into photography and I'm quite obsessed. It'd be nice to connect with somone locally. I'm also a novice so could use some tips as to good sites for shooting ect. Particularly Milwaukee at night. I just ordered a new Camera(30D) and can't wait to fire it up. Any info much appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike,

I am a member of Fox Valley Camera Club, which is a member of WACCO - Wisconsin Area Camera Clubs Organization. Got to there website - http://www.wisc-camera.org/ (external link) - and near the top they have a link for WACCO member clubs throughout the state. Seems to me there are many of them in your area.

Mike, if you get down towards Milwaukee, pop me an private message on here and I'll go shooting with you if it works out. I just like getting out there and I'm in the same boat as you - I can hardly ever find people to go with.

That sounds great Adam, I'm in. Milwaukee has changed so much since I used to know it well I'll bet there are some great places to go. I know I want to hit the Domes but will need to get my Macro before doing that. Maybe I'll rent one for the day, I really like Macro photography. I'd also like to get that new suspension bridge at night I think it's light up.
I'll send you a PM when I get my kit a we'll try to arrange something. Have a great day, Mike

The 6th street bridge is terrific and there is always the art museum. The 3rd ward and the river walk could work well.

I think a night trek with some tripods would be cool. There are some locations overlooking downtown from the NW I’d like to check out as well.

I am also in milwuakee. Just ran across this thread and notice that all the clubs go from Sep-May or so. Which obviously does me no good here in August. Anyone up for starting a small get together of Milwaukeeans or people close enough to drive in?

I'd be game for a get together! Perhaps this should be a separate thread "August xx Milwaukee meet" etc.

Nice to see this thread still alive. Only 72 replies but it'll probably never be like this thread.
