Bogen/Manfrotto tripod not straight on "basic" position?

I just got a Bogen/Manfrotto 718B for my longer hikes. I noticed something silly when I came home. When the head is in it's basic landscape position, it is not straight! It is noticeably tilted to the right (over the 0 degrees it should be, if we consider portrait shots to be -90 degrees).

Do you find this acceptable? To me it feels really stupid. Or. Maybe I am stupid? Anyways, I think I'll take it back and see if they're all like that.

Pierre

All of mine are like that, but it is adjustable. You almost never get to set a tripod up on perfectly level ground, so that plate is adjustable, and has a lock handle to lock in the level position.

Please speak slowly and distinctly. I have a wife, AND a computer, I don't need any more confusion in my life.

I wanted to be a nude photographer, but when I went outside naked, everyone pointed and laughed, so I gave it up.

If you want you camera to be level, then get one of those little bubble levels that fits into the hotshoe...
