Well it finally happened....

I had one of my clients call me yesterday and said they changed dates and PHTOGRAPHERS:cry:... I think I took it pretty well and after I dried my eyes (lol), I asked was there anything in particular that the other photographer offered that I didn't? He said my prices were the best but his fiance like the other photogs sytle. I wished them well and order a new computer:lol:.

oh bla dee oh bla da.... Life goes on.....

I say better to have someone tell people 'Even though we decided to switch photographers, he was great to work with and understood our decision" than "I wish we had switched photographers. I'm not happy with these photos."

I'm sure that would be a sad moment, though, and a tad frustrating.

That's a tough pill to swallow. Sales sucks that way. Look at it as a fork in the road. Stick to your style or vary your looks. Learn from it or strengthen from it as well.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

you can't win them all! Sometimes it's better than dealing with further issues so don't get let down.

tough luck. I lost two this year. One was cancelled, the other was rescheduled to a date I wasn't available. kept the deposits... easiest $3000 I've ever made.... :) I needed the break anyways and I'm kinda relieved it happened.

That might work, so that they really reconsider canceling on you. How much were you charging?

I don't know your package prices but that sounds ok, again this depends on what you charge. I'm charging 20% of the package for deposit, 40% one week prior to the event and 40% at the time of delivery of package and final albums.

I'd rather lose one AFTER getting the deposit check cashed than at the consult... but either way, it hurts the pride a little.

I guess it is the nature of this beast (wedding photography)... We all will loose one eventually. This was my first, it will always have a special place in my heart. We all remember our first...lol...

But as long as I cashed the check it is all good for me...
