I need a wide angle lens to compliment my other 2 lenses for my 30d. I currently own the 24-105 F4/L IS USM, and the 70-200 F4L USM. Do you guys have any suggestions for something under $400 that might fill the void? Thanks, Larry

Larry, maybe you could save your pesos a few more weeks/months and get the 17-40mm f/4L. I got a 'refurbed by Canon USA' copy from Adorama photo and have had no complaints. Spent just over $600 for it. It is an entry level 'L' and not that fast, but it is plenty sharp I have found. Just a thought! Good luck!:)

i dunno how much a sigma 10-20 or tokina 12-24 is over there, but i'd get one of those two. also, its strange you mispelled lens in the title of the thread, and not in the post :). not meant offensively, just interesting.

I was thinking of those also, I really can't budget much more than $400. Just picked up the 200L and the credit card is maxed, LOL. My spelling is off a bit today , I think it was the vodka last night....:D

How is this lens at F2.8? Also have you compared it to the 17-40L canon?

I have played with both, and bought the 17-50. I don't have any comparos but the Tamron is pretty damn sharp wide open.
