I ordered last night about 10pm, and this morning mine was "View Order" only. So... I imagine most of us should have some luck ;)

Did you order through amazon, llc or one of their vendors? I ordered last night a good bit earlier than 10pm and it's still "view or change" and no shipping notice.

So you ordered last night and it has already been shipped. I ordered mine over a week ago and I have to wait 5 weeks? Sounds like Amazon did not do a first come first serve on this one. Seems as though the dates changing messed up their computer shipments and filled orders that came in after the date change assuming the people that ordered earlier knew it would not be available until the end of September.

I guess not everyone is having some luck.

Enjoy the 40D's boys. I was excited to have it by Labor Day weekend, but I suppose it was not meant to be.

Have you called them? I think that works...

There's a thread over a Dpreview about people calling Amazon and getting a whole bunch of mixed messages. The general gist of it is; they don't have any, not shipping anytime soon.

When I talked to Amazon today I made the comment that it would be helpful to have an idea when the amount would be charged. Aka when it would be shipped should be updated more frequently / as accurately as possible.

Amazon, as of this morning, had three available from one of their vendors at a price of $1350, $50 higher than retail. This availability disappeared about an hour later. Amazon was taking orders with a "shipping soon" notice at $1299. I ordered one and my estimated ship date is late September with arrival in early October. Hmmmm. Of course, it can be cancelled at any time before the order is processed (willl not be processed until the item is in-stock) so I have the option of watching B&H or other vendors to see if they show IN-STOCK sooner, at which time I can order from them. My gut feeling is it may be 2-3 weeks before these start becoming readily available.
