nice pics, I hope the weather holds up for me, gonna take about a 4000 mile trip from southern California, to Yellowstone, and then into Banff, and then Glacier, looks like there's been a bit of rain up there the last few weeks... gonna start my "adventure" this weekend hope to get some nice pics myself. ever been in the Banff area?

Wow those are some amazing shots. You made it to parts of Newfoundland that I couldn't make it to. I would have loved to spend another couple of weeks there and then go to Labrador as well.

Wow, thanks for all the great comments. Hopefully I've inspired some of you to do your own trips, maybe I can help for those of you who have some planned soon.

What camera and lens did you use? Some of these HDR? (1st 2 sets)

5D with a sigma 12~24mm EX DG, Canon 24~70mm L, and Sigma 70~200mm EX DG. There are only 2 HDRs in the entire set. :)
EXIFs are intact. The 2 HDR's filenames are text, not IMG_xxxx.jpg

A few in the gallery. It's no where near as impressive as you'd think. It's so HUGE you'd think it was just a large lake. The circular effect is just from well above.

No exactly. We went to Montana State University in Bozeman MT and went to glacier a few times. That's (regretfully) as close as we ever got.

Thanks! Sorry I missed your trip, but I was broke (still am) when I got back. Well worth it though.

I try to do one huge trip like this a year. Next summer will be interesting because my wife is pregnant and due March 2008... So we'll have a little tike with us, be we don't plan on letting that keep us home.

let me know. The one above was done back in fall 2000, so all the pictures are chromes, but I can offer suggestions on where to go and where not to go.

Visit www.awesomeroadtrips.com (external link) for trip diaries from the trips if you're interested. There are also a ton more images.
