Bag for photo gear and stuff for hiking/travel, choices seem limited, any thoughts?

I've outgrown my Domke and am looking for a bigger bag.

I was hoping to find a bag that would fit all my gear and also have a separate compartment for other stuff like mp3 player, sweatshirt, overnight bag, etc etc.

I've read the reviews on the Tamrac Adventure 7 and 9, but the bags seem to hold a minimal amount of gear. Both it seems only hold one body w/ lens attached, 2 lenses and a flash.

Are there any other dual use bags that I'm missing?

I bought an Adventure 9 last week as I wanted a bag with a laptop compartment.

I carry my 20D with EF 38-135mm fitted, a 70-300 Canon lense, 10-20mm Sigma lense, Sony HD camcorder and cleaning kit in the kit compartment. A 60GB firewire hardisk in the upper pouch and then the rest of it filled with poncho/hat etc.

The one disappointing aspect of the bag is there is no attachment facility for tripod/monopod.

Other than that a great bag IMO

30D....all the gear....and no idea!

After looking over all the dual purpose backpacks I could find (including those mentioned above), I recently got a Naneu Pro K3. It holds all the items in my signature plus a flash and other smaller items (memory cards, batteries, chargers, ect...). The top is very roomy and can carry at least a change of clothes, a pair of shoes, rain gear and some food/snacks. I use it as carry on when I fly. It's nicely made and not too expensive, has a rain cover and the best part is the chest straps and back design. It actually has a spring like padded back that keeps it away from your body and keeps you cooler than one that sits directly on you. It's very comfortable even fully loaded.

That looks good. Does your have room for your 20D with a grip attached?

I don't have a grip, but there is definately enough room for one.

What about the Lowepro CompuRover AW? seems a bit similair to tamrac adventure 9 (bit more expensive) and can carry a tripod!
