Hey, I'm new here, bought an XT about a month ago used

Well, i'm having a bit of a problem. I set my camera to continuous mode, but my burst speed isn't 3fps like it's supposed to be. It seems more like 1.5 fps. I tried increasing shutter speed to 1/4000 and i tried different dial settings but the burst speed doesn't change. And I have a 133x card.

Bleh, I wonder if there's a problem with my camera :(

I believe that the burst speed is quoted as a maximum. Try firing with the lens cap on....ie, minimal processing and see what speed you get.

Have you actually timed it? 3fps is actually quite slow to listen too, I can easily lift my finger of before the 2nd frame fires.

I'd do this to rule out the CF card. Set the camera to fire w/out CF card, if it's not already. Make sure burst mode is enabled, set to M. Pick fast shutter like 1/1000; aperture whatever and then hold down the shutter.

One more thought: I'm pretty sure the long exposure NR does not function for exposures faster than a second or so, but if it does that may cause a slowdown.

3fps doesn't sound like it when it's firing. You may not have a problem at all. I would try actually timing it and see what you get.

If you are only getting 1 or 1.5, then I would try another card. There have been stories of fake cards so be sure the one you have, and any that you buy, are the real deal.
