Light stand, umbrellas & adapters

Ok, so I have 2 flashes that I can rig up to my camera via pc cords. I'm looking for some advice on what to look for in light stands & umbrellas and a good place to get everything I need (pref in the UK).

I'll be shooting mainly portraits (not commercial)and anything else that catches my eye.

Since you already have a 580EX, you would make your life a lot easier if you got a 430EX or 580EX and used wireless for either ETTL or manual flash.
