are you referring to the 5MDH? I also have the 30D and 17-55IS + hood. Would the side fit comfortably the 70-200 f4? The flash should fit with ease right?

It depends on the attached lense more than the grip. 30D with grip + lens up to the length of 17-55IS will fit into 5MDH. If you try to attach any longer lens on 30D, it will be taller than 5MDH.
