My cousin, trying to keep her horse from bucking her off, at a local horseshow.... not the best of shots, I had just arrived and was pulling the camera out of the bag, when this happened.. went with the TV @ 800 and ISO 100.... hoped for the best..

I was thinking pissant pony. You don't usually get to see the rodeo with the riders wearing breeches and a jacket.

Thanks for looking... yeah... the lighting was harsh.. and I didn't have time to check my settings, when I caught these shots... it all happened, just as I arrived, I just grabbed the camera, and shot....

her horse is 8 years old, she's been a rescue horse, sadly neglected by the previous owners... :( the poor thing had nearly been starved, only getting 1/2 bale of hay a day :(.... they bought her in late June, and now they are training her for show, and it's been an interesting process.... the activity doesn't bother her, but there is something about open gates, that sets her off... and they had just approached an open gate.. not to mention, that the mare is in heat...

She looks very controlled despite her ride thinking otherwise. :P Kudos to her!
Good luck with the horse, good to know it found a caring owner!

Thanks Sabarika... she's doing quite well with this horse, and the horse adores her... just has a huge issue with open gates.... and they had just approached the gate... this was the 2nd show this horse has ever been in, and did quite well, considering all the noise and confusion.
