I just came across this blog post (external link) demonstrating a pretty neat trick with histograms. I don't see any real use for it, but thought it was clever just the same. And if you don't understand histograms very well, reading how he pulled it off might enlighten you.

If you found this interesting, here is a guy who took the original idea and ran with it, (external link) creating a Perl script to convert any B/W image into an image with a skyline for a histogram.
