snapped this chap today, they are getting very rare in the uk , he/she was sitting between light shaddow light, and i was very happy with this pic apart from the grass blade across the face,

Cute shot. Squirrels in general are getting rare over there, or red squirrels in particular? I've got a black squirrel with a red tail living on my street, which I believe is something of an anomaly.

just red, we only have two, the grey was introduced and is pushing the red into extinction the goverment has taken the usual too late steps to try and help but it hasnt worked

yes the greys also carry pox virus which is fatal to the reds.
i think i read somewhere that there is a cull of greys in grizedale forest here in cumbria.
