I believe in the official siganature etiquette thread, it specifically states you must have at least paid for the lens and it's in the process of being shipped, although strong cases were heard from the "must have in ones possesion" side of the fence:p

Cool. Well, I've paid for it and I just got the email today that it shipped so I guess I own it. I won't be able to pick it up for at least another month, so I really, really hope I didn't get a soft copy because I won't be able to exchange it by then. I know I'm being anal, but after getting soft lenses before, I'm paranoid.

There has only been one person who's reported a soft copy in this poll. Could that person please PM me and tell me where he/she purchased it from? Thanks!

this is being rather anal. it could just be random sampling, or the unfortunate returns :( but nonetheless, good luck on getting a sharp copy!

Thanks, Richard! I am looking forward to using this lens for sure!

I was just reading some online reviews and most of them are good. I was a bit surprised, however, to read the review on www.slrgear.com (external link). That review sites the lens as having soft corners and not being all that sharp until f/2.0 and smaller. I haven't read too many bad reviews of this lens, but there are a few message board posts that support the review on www.slrgear.com (external link).
Here is a link to the review if anyone is interesed:
