What would they be?

Yes I am asking for my benefit. At this point I have no specialties I shoot. It will be shooting people indoors and out, and vacation / home scenes. I asked this before but was not very specific as to what I would be using them for, so I got a wide variety if ideas. I want quality lenses, not cheapies.

BTW, I just borrowed a copy of the Canon EF Lens Work III so when I read that it may answer some questions...but I would like some experts opinions.

Thanks

I could never settle for just two lenses all the time, I'd keep selling them and bying new ones

having said that I would make sure the 50f1.4 was one I always kept. Just love that pain ol normal FL:-)

24-70
70-200 and the first thing I would add to that would be the 50 1.4

Wow. It would really suck to only have two lenses. I'd have to say the 16-35L and 70-200 2.8L IS would be the ideal two lens combo for me. The 24-70 is a great range, but I'd like the option to go wider if I needed to. The fisheye is currently satisfying my wide fetish, but ultimately I want to go back to using a wide rectangular.

When I had it I used it for everything. I loved the minimum close focusing distance and was able to get really creative with perspectives. I primarily shot between 16-24mm, so I really didn't feel the need for a mid-range zoom at the time. I found myself either shooting really wide or really long, but nothing really in between. That is until I recently started backing up Jen for weddings where the need for the brick superceded my love for the 16-35L. The fisheye is a very fun lens to use, but it's a lens I acquired more out of want rather than a need. I definitely plan to add either the 14mm or 16-35L II to my line-up.

Ditto. Leaves a bit of a hole but not that much.
