I am asking for that trade in the sell area, I guess I should have asked if that is a fair deal first here?

Price wise it seems fair, but anyways advice is always welcome.

Yeah, fair but not really IMO. I've seen the 28 selling for about $200 recently, the 50 is around $275-300 with hood....with the 28 included in the 40d kit I just think there's too many of them out there right now....Supply and demand

I'd rather be getting the 50 than the 28-135. for image quality the 50 is really great. I've never had teh 28-135, but I've heard that my 28-105 is better IQ wise.

New 28-135IS is at least $380 new from reputable sellers. I sold mine from the 40D kit for $325 on Amazon Marketplace.

New 50/1.4 from reputable sellers are $280.

What do you think?

how do you seel from amazon? I tried by it says you have to approved or something....

I think the 28-135 is a really nice lens, I just don't use it enough while I would use the 50 1.4 99% of the time as a walk around like I do now with my 1.8

50/1.4 owner should add at least $50 to even the deal if both lenses are in new condition.

You just have to set up a seller's account. Very easy. No need to take any pictures or design your page. Just a short note about the condition. No fee to list, unlike ebay. And buyer pays Amazon first, then they tell you to ship. So, no waiting around until a winning bidder contact you like on ebay. The commission is steeper, but the hassles and risks are lower. The selling price in general is also better than ebay, in my experience of selling stuff.

The item has to be on their database. The 28-135IS definitely is.

I sold mine within hours of listing it.
