I had a photo shoot for one of my wife's friends today and my daughter was getting jealous because she wasn't in front of the camera. This is just a quick shot of my little monkey with her big monkey...LOL

The monkey on the left is over powering the shot. I think my eye should be drawn to the child. I find myself staring at the blank spot in the center. I Like the idea of the shot. You should recompose it.

I think you should move the monkey to the right since we usually read from left to right the baby I would assume would be our first sight?

LOL too funny she wanted to be photographed too, got her trained early don't you? ;)
She seems a bit "washed out" for a lack of better word, I think with the monkey having such strong colors and she being a bit washed out she seems to get a bit lost.

Yeah, I agree...I'm going to revisit this comp down the road. She was just getting a little fussy so I sat her down on the bench and snapped off a couple frames. She was happy as a clam after that... LOL

Good point...I'll make sure to do that when I try this again. :)

Yeah, you are right. I didn't reset any of the lighting from the shoot I was doing (was only on a diaper change break) so the lighting isn't perfect. Maybe I'll work with it a little in PS to even out the colors. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you...I agree, I am very blessed to have such an expressive little girl. The more newborn/infant/toddler shoots I do the more I realize how rare that is.

What a cutie, I would also suggest moving the two closer together to eliminate the negative space. Try as you may but I doubt you will get that same expressive look that she has in the first.

Thanks for the feedback...I agree. I'm just going to call these "snapshots", they are keepers for me because of her personality but not because of the composition.
