Hi!

Yes I think so! There is a firmware version for S5 IS which can do this. This firmware is somewhere at the canon bebit site.

If you're using DPOF, you can print the date. The [Date Stamp] feature referred to in the DPOF writeup of the S5 manual (Advanced, p. 138), however, isn't an S5 feature; the text for the DPOF section's not specifically for the S5, but is pasted into most of the PowerShot manuals. There hasn't been a Canon firmware update for this camera yet.
