Network connection problem after software install

Hello and HELP!

I purchased the A720 in October and last weekend installed the supplied camera software (ZoomBrowser, Photostitch, EOS Utility) onto my laptop. I accepted the defaults and recommendations during the installation process which also included the installation of Microsoft .NET framework. Everything worked fine between the camera and the computer.

Afterwards, however, I can no longer connect to networks via my Ethernet network adapter. The wireless adapter still works. Also, it appears that the USB port where I had the camera connected at the time, will no longer properly recognize other USB hardware, such as a memory stick.

Has anyone else encountered this situation and/or have a solution that I can try?

Of course, I didn't find this out until I left for vacation to a hotel with no wireless and only wired high-speed internet capability.

Thanks in advance for any help!!
Tom

If it were me I'd first try using XP's System Restore utility. With luck it will restore your vital settings to what they were before loading the Canon software.

I agree with teekay!
This is the best you can do. In the case you can't do this, than try to remove all softwares you installed with your camera.
You get many useless softwares with cameras. It has economic backgrounds. In most cases you don't need to install any softwares in order to download your pictures from the camera.

Thanks all. Seems to be that, like the suggestions here, most people are recommending the "system restore" option. I have a restore point from just before I installed the software so I think I will go that route.

Thanks again!
Tom
