Interesting, some of those are scam houses, but I'm pretty sure www.zipzoomfly.com (external link) is a legitimate reseller (maybe not authorized though).

I think it's really sad to see Newegg on the unauthorized list along with some of the worst scumbags in the industry. Newegg is one of the top e-tailers on the net!

For UK people, a list of camera shop websites are listed here:
http://www.ukcamera.com/ (external link)

Can't tell you which are Canon authorised or unauthorised, but can say that if you're looking for second hand gear, the following stores update their 2nd hand Canon gears page/s regularly:
Aperture, Fixation, LCE, Mifsuds & MXV

I second that for newegg. I have purchased a number of things from camera equiptment to mp3 players. I have ALWAYS had a good experience with them. Same goes for Adorama with camera stuff.

Is there any way we can get an updated list (as the one on pg1 is from 2005 and half those websites don't even work anymore).

I sent a note to Newegg about being a Canon authorized dealer and they said they were. I hope so because they're an outstanding store.

Hey that's great to know! I buy thousands of dollars worth of computer parts from them on a yearly basis and by far, they've got some of the best selection, prices, and service available.

Also, within the last month or so, they seem to have really gotten competitive with Canon equipment.
They've increased their selection and started selling for market price (instead of MSRP). Up until a couple weeks ago, the 40D body at Newegg was $1299 and now it's $1149 + free 2GB CF card + free shipping (as of yesterday).

Also, the 40D kit is now $1299 + free 2GB card which is the same deal Buydig is currently running.

Checking with resellersratings.com is always a wise thing to do. THey are pretty reputable and cover a lot of online retailers.

Also, Canon has their own store locator. I am assuming since Canon themselves are calling them out, that they are authorized by Canon to sell their goods.
