I just recieved my 50mm F1.8 yesterday and well at about 12:30am my dad woke up and walked by the computer and I happened to take a quick snap of him! lol! He didn't like the flash!

I don't know which picture had the red filter on it but I think it'd probably be best to just edit the picture for more contrast ect in PS instead of adding a filter infront?

The 2nd one is best imo. The 1st one he has a few hotspots... his forehead from hairline to nose bridge is completely blown out, and the cheeks.

What kind of flash did you use?

The light seems to harsh, try to soften it up. Play with your shutter speed a little.

I like the second picture the best. I took the liberty of 'tweaking' it a bit in CS3. Let me know what you think.
