What kind of a bag are you using when you’re carrying around your light stands and umbrellas? I was thinking of getting a larger Manfrotto tripod bag where I could put at least 3 light stands and 3 -5 umbrellas. Does this seem like a bad idea?

Not at all. I have one from Tenba, IIRC, for mine.

Good :) I haven't really found any bag advertised for this, but I figured if you go with a larger tripod bag, it should be able to hold all that.

I got the Tenba #T388 TRI PAK (BLACK) 38x8.5" - TET388; I have 3-4 light stands and a couple of reflector holder arms in it.

IMPACT BAG (external link)

I carry the following in it...

3 Impact light stands
1 bogen superclamp
3 umbrellas
1 box with 4 flashes
1 box with batteries, pocket wizards, sync cords & bungees

In a pinch I put my tripod on top between the handles

Check out ThinkTank Bazooka Series.

Check out the Bazooka (external link), Big Bazooka (external link), or the Humongous Bazooka (external link).

These are great in my opinion.

I just bought two of these (external link) and I can fit two (probably three but I only have two) Bogen 3336 11' Light stands with umbrella mounts attached and 4 45" umbrellas in them and 4 pocket wizards in the side outside pocket. I actually dont need the second one as I thought they would be smaller and I would be able to fit as much as I could in them. I am thinking Im going to use it to hold my backdrop system when it comes in case I dont like the case that one comes with. But I may end up selling it...

I have that same bag and I am very happy with it. The price is very reasonable also.

Thank you all for your advice :) I'll look into the different bags.
