Thanks barosborough for the idea. Only took 100 shots with a remote to pull it off.

I am reading some of the posts after this. So this was not as simple as remote and snap picture. I would like to try this. What was some of the challenges you were encountering. Did the candle not give enough light off? How long of a shudder did you do? iso? aperture?

I should probably ask Tau175336 also for advice! Hey Tau, if you would like to chime in to help us out also. :)

Thanks bphillips,

This was actually a pretty easy picture to take. I took the picture in manual, manual focus RAW format. I used a target to get white balance otherwise the picture was very orange and Digital Photo Pro software did not have enough white balance adjustment to correct. I was able to use teeth and eyes and a white shirt in some early trials to come close on the white balance. Otherwise these are the settings I used, obviously I used a tripod and the wireless remote, the timer works also just alot of running back and forth. Did all PP with Digital Photo Pro.

I dont have the entire card on file but my wife used these pictures I took of ornaments on our tree in the card she put together from our family. I took these with my xti and 100mm macro lens.

This is the image from my cards this year, 15 layers, lots of fiddling, but finally I've managed to incorporate all our pussycats on the card. Warwick and I had our pictures inside!

And a Merry Christmas and happy New Year to all, and I hope Santa brings lots of photographic goodies to you all.
