I've seen some pretty good cameras mentioned in this thread. However, when you have a wife that doesn't know squat about cameras and wants to buy you something for your birthday, you end up with an HP 1.5MP piece of battery-eating junk.

Can you say sutter delay?

Can you say 15 seconds of boot time?

You can even get 10 "high quality" pictures on an 8meg (that's megs) card.

However, because of the "mistakes" above and this group, I now have a 20D (thinking about adding a 1Ds Mark III or EF500mm F4.0) plus a 17-40, 50-1.4, 70-200 F2.8 IS, 100-400, RSS 55 Ball Head, Gitzo GT3530SLV, plus Crump. 7 Million, 1.4X, 2X tele-extender.

So I guess everything was even in the end.

Canon S200 Elph. 2mp of awsomeness. I just got rid of my Sony H5 superzoom (to get the 400D) and I like to tell people the S200 has better IQ than the Sony. (the JPGs are processed much nicer in the camera than the OVERPROCESSED, OVERSHARPED look of the Sony, IMO).

I wouldn't mind getting a newer Elph or other small Canon... I learned my lesson with that piece of crap Sony! I might check out Panasonic though... however that will be a long ways away cause I'm having too much fun with my Rebel!:)

Kodak EasyShare M753. Worthless POS, unless the lighting is just right. Not too bright, not too dim. I got it because it was small and I could carry it around easily. 15 min. after being at Pearl Harbor I realized that I had just wasted a couple hundred bucks and wished I had lugged the real camera with me. Not that the real camera is that great (Rebel XT), but compared to the Kodak it is wonderful.

Canon A640, broke one and purchased another one. Colours are a bit undersaturated and noise is a bit high, but damn the JPGs are sharp, sharp, sharp!

Looks damn sexy and professional too
