Put on my photo backpack on my way out the door, zipper was unzipped, 100-400 IS falls on the garage floor..HARD..

Put it on the camera, no problems at all...

Yowza! Glad it is OK. The build on these lenses is great. I just got my 4th L lens today, the 24-105L IS, and was comparing it with my 28-138 IS. The build is like going from a Yugo to a Mercedes Benz.

I think I would of vomited a bit if that happened to me.

I'll have to try that with all my lens's when I get home. Just to make sure they were all worth the $$$ I paid.

canons are strong, they do afterall have many explosions inside them on a daily basis =P

i dropped my 430ex onto the ground, it was on an oc-e3 cord, i was squated down reviewing my last photo, had it resting on my left leg.. and it slipped and hit the ground, about a 1 litre bottle drop height, no damage, no marks. scared me
