I like the firefox add on Exif Viewer. It's in the right click context menu, and you just tell it to view exif data, and if it's there, it shows it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905 (external link)

I recently got this lens as a gift from my parents but today was the first day I had time to use the lens. Ofcourse I took some test shots, just to figure out what the capabilities are of the lens, and also its limitations. So I took this shot (f/1.4), centerfocus point on the center of the rose...what do you guys think?
Do I have a f/1.8 lens with a softfoucs ability at f/1.4 or am I being a little bit to critical?

Any input appreciated!

I don't think its that bad...just within millimeters, the area in focus is there, then gone. The depth of field is so shallow it make it seem soft. But looking at the top petals, they look relatively sharp. Also, this is cropped, is it not?

Yes! I did the test with the focus chart 1234213 times and it's good! It's only a bit soft wide open..but sharpens up really nicely at f2.0 so i'm happy!
The pic is indeed a 100% crop, no PP. If I resize the full image and apply some USM the Rose really pops...so.. thanks!

It's good to pixelpeep when you first get your gear, just see how it performs...and once you know that, just shoot away. Most of the time you won't notice on print..so...i'm enjoying my lens much more now.. :)

I just got this lens last week & haven't had any time to play with it. Took a few test shots tonight. I think I'm happy with it:D

Focus point was on Jackson's right eye.

2nd pic is 100% crop
