Very nice series. Regarding the color variation, any chance you are in an area where there are pen raised and stocked pheasants. I have seen some different variations from the paid hunt areas where the stock birds.

It is a possibility that 10 - 15 years ago there may have been one in the area.

Very nice series of shots !!!!! Since I was just shooting the same type of birds I know how difficult it was to get in flight shots.


A little L goes a long way.

the color variation is called a melanistic. its closer to when they were concidered to be blacknecked pheasants. its similar to a greenxring neck cross. love the photos
