I'm finding that the more I use it the less I like it from a performance point of view. Once your catalogs get large it really bogs down.
I have some other comments in the other
I love Lightroom thread. I'm not up to retyping them here.
I too share your pain. I tried Lightroom, and it has the Potential to be a good program, but it painfully show, and just quirky at times. Lightroom's editing capabilities are just wrappers around Adobe Camera Raw. You can do the same stuff in ACR that you can do in Lightroom. Lightrooms value is in it's photo organization capabilities, as well as it's keywording capabilities. I found both too frustrating to work with, and in the end didn't feel like the program was worth it's $300 price tag. I COULD have reworked my workflow to compensate for Lightrooms performance problems (i.e start using smaller catalogs, etc), but felt it was rediculous to do that when the whole purpose of getting Lightroom is to improve your workflow and make it more efficient
Now that Apple's Aperture 2.0 program is out, I am anxiously awaiting to see how Lightroom 2.0 will respone. Apple priced Aperture at $199, so I think Adobe will have to respond and match prices in the 2.0 release.
Until then, I will stick to PS3 and ACR. Mark my words. Right now everyone is high on Lightroom, but when Adobe releases Lightroom 2.0 everyone will start openly talking about the problems that reside in Lightroom 1.0. But until then, everyone will sing it's praises.
