I know how you feel. plus so many great shots of flowers. I want a 100mm macro lens too

Thanks Jake... :) I wish I had taken more shots of those... they were in the shade, and we hiked over to a sunnier spot.. but they were not on that side of the hill for some reason.

I'm loving shooting flowers... I need to pick up the 100mm macro for myself...

Good morning all,
Great photos from this morning, where were you?

Hatch, that HDR shot is incredible!!! Huge WOW factor!!!
Any specifics on how you got that shot?
I have tried a few, but never with that type of result.

Very nice shot Larry. It is great to see the flowers on the hillside.

Thanks Dana for the kudos.

Many thanks!

I shot 5-10 frames at different exposures... keep the f/stop the same and the focal point. A tripod works best with a cable release. Then... in PSCS 2 I used the Merge to HDR command. This creates a 32 bit HDR image... you then convert it to a 16 bit image... with a mode change. Make your changes...

I then tweaked the image with curves and a little dodge/burn action.

That was about it. :)

Hope this helps.
Thanks again, Hatch

Larry, I am really liking that wide angle shot! Seeing all that color in the desert is awesome!

MANY more to work through...

Nice pix people!

Adam, Keeper of the Kitties, and I went to Hassayampa River Preserve yesterday.

I only brought the 180mm and here are a few shots that were fun:
