NOOB flash bracket question

can anyone recommend an inexpensive flash bracket + sync cord setup suitable for canon 40D & 350D + 580EX - i want to have all features of the flash (ETTL etc) enabled while on the bracket

if you can point me to actual products that would be very helpful

i don't want to spend a ton of cash because i don't use flash for the majority of my work, but in some cases it would be really helpful

(if compatibility is an issue, then just for the 40D will be ok)

Currently the cord you want is the Canon Off Camera Shoe Cord 3. Some retailers may still have the version 2 available, which will also work fine. Version 3 is built stronger and has weather sealing.

Flash brackets are a matter of budget and personal preference. A forum search for "flash bracket" threads will yield more opinions than you care to read.
