I took these on a trip to St. Louis last summer before i joined here...and before i knew a whole lot other than changing the shutter speed. i'm going to the Houston Zoo this Saturday...so was just lookin to see what ya'll thought about these so i could get some better shots this weekend.

Oh, and all these pics were taken with either the kit lens, or the Canon 75-300 non IS, and i dont have either of those anymore.

I love number five, great colors and a nice pop. Some of your other ones don't have that nearly as much, so i'd suggest lowering your f stop sumber, try 5.0 or even 4.5. On number one I'd try and crop that leaf out of the top right. I'm still a noob on here too, so if any gurus wanna correct me go right ahead.

Wonderful shots. I appreciate the elephant shot the most because I had such a hard time shooting them last summer. They have a lot of elephants, but they have so much room to roam, that I couldn't get to a place that gave me a good view of them.

Canon 7D, 5D, 35L, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8, 135L, 200L, 10-22, 17-55, 70-300, 100-400L, 500D, 580EX(2).
Sigma 150 macro, 1.4X, 2X, Quantaray 2X, Kenko closeup tubes, Yongnuo YN685(3), Yongnuo YN-622C-TX. Lots of studio stuff.

I think they look great!

The upper right corner on the flamingo picture bothers me a bit, but still great shots!

I might be going there in a few days too!

Now using a Canon SX50 and loving it :)

Ok how are the colors so saturated? Is that straight out of the camera?

I have a 20d and I often have to add some saturation to the photo.

the saturation is bumped a little in the flamingos. i believe just contrast was added to the rhino and elephant
