Thanks for the compliments and my lens was new, not refurbed. I don't know how they did it, but this is an excellent deal.

Maybe Cameta has mafia ties and they are hijacked lenses meant for B&H or Adorama. ;):lol:

Perhaps they sold them dirt cheap in the first place to get rid of them and then realised that there was a demand for them at that price. They are probably still making money off them and moving more of them than anyone else.

Good business me thinks ;)

Well, to update on the shipping thing...I received an email from Amazon a little while ago saying my items have shipped. UPS tracking shows 2nd day air so it should be here either tomorrow or Monday.

I'm looking forward to getting it.

BTW, I placed the order last night around 1900 EST.

I'd bet they're not making much at all, but that they do this to set themselves apart so that you'll look to them for your next full-price purchase.

Hmmm... true. That makes more sense.

Still, smart business.

@60mm f/2.8

Very little retouching other than compensating for exposure and WB. This is one of my favorite lenses.

I'm loving that reel shot. Would make for a great ad shot.

This is where having family that doesn't recognize camera equipment comes in handy.
"Is that a new lens?"
"No, I've had this forever."
"Oh..."
