Its getting better in London too although the evenings are kind of chilly right now. Another month should be cool.

I am unbelievably impressed by the quality of pictures shot at 1600+. I am an old time film dog used to an AE-1. Digital at 1600 beats film at 1600 I would say, wouldn't you?

I LIKE the noise on higher ISO on film, especially black and white. Everyday, a programmer finds a way of creating an idiotproof program. Digital noise can be handled better and I suppose can be added in later. I would say the suppression on digital is better than 35mm film. True, sometimes you do want the noise. We called it grain way yonder back then, now it's noise. My first camera was a twin lens Yashica that took 120 or 220 film. B/W iso 400 was a big deal then and you pushed it in processing to get it higher. But it could be grainy as all get out which you didn't always want. With digital at least I can minimize it to a degree.
