Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson were re-shooting the ending of Last Chance Harvey today on the Thames riverside walk near the Royal Festival Hall. According to one of the supporting cast, they'd filmed it last October but someone (director Joel Hopkins?) wasn't happy with the result.

In the scene I watched them shoot, Dustin's character Harvey Shine is walking along the riverside when he see's Emma's character Kate coming toward him. They stop and talk for a few minutes and then she goes off, crying.

I got a nice shot of Dustin Hoffman:

I couldn't get a clear close-up of Emma Thompson but when I came back later they were still filming and the best shot I could get isn't very flattering. Maybe she'd just heard the director call for a 9 o'clock start the following day. Ms Thompson seemed to be pulling quite a few faces between takes.

There are a couple more shots on my Flickr photostream (external link).

The paps and celeb-chasers among you might like to know that I heard the director tell the cast there would be a 9 o'clock start tomorrow. Presumably at the same place, as they left their kit there.

All shots were taken with the Canon 70-300mm IS USM lens on a 40D body. Exif data is intact. Click a picture to go to the Flickr page for other sizes.
