Thank you for your patients and participations. so many interpret ions and creative thinking from all the entrants as usual.
Here're my little thoughts of your images.
In reverse order as I come from the land down under.
sara - Untitled
Let me call this "power of karma". Pretty powerful stuff as the five fingers make us aware of the five basic elements of the universe: fire, air, space, water and earth. I love the great details and B+W? I like!
gewb - Symbol
Flags are indeed symbol of strength for every nations. I could still recall the great three-headed elephant of Laos where I was brought up. Nice thought.
Michael Wells - Lifting that Heavy Weather
Great composition of the beast. It really seems to lift the stormy clouds. Love the details at the long end of the G9. I should upgrade mine ?!?
Dorman - Horse Power
Excellent captured of the needle of the speedometer. I hope you will come back and tell us what and how you made this shot. I need to know everything; lighting and how you set up the shot! It remind me of the great Don's pictures.
Gary W. Graley - Stalwart Roots!
What a awesome looking roots! At first glance I thought they were a couple of our salt crocodile from the north. It would need great strength to remove them.
andrewaaa5 - paper~weight
Mate! I want your brain - so creative shot Andrew.I hope 'Disneyland' or 'Pixa'? approaches you soon.
teekay - Make my day...
Don't really want to mess around with these guys! My first was 'kissed' by a 6-feet kangaroo hoped out from the side of the road once; not very pretty.
rpolitsr - evil’s strength
Oh, Crikey! I hope I will never see this fellow in my path! Love the evil-sh yellow light from the side - it seems to complimise the blue/purple ambient light. Great techniques as you would expected from sir Rafael.
Kevan_G9 - Quietly grazing after a long day...
This reminds me of the challenge #166 "Looks like a face" - just hope it didn't take down too many trees. I also enjoy the colour combination of orange/yellow/green.
Maureen Souza - Lifting a Big Beer
Yep she beats me. My friend always call me a one pot screamer. I'd better stick to the Oo-Long tea. Where the other two or three empty pints (425ml)?!?
marie - logging off
B+W conversion is really working well with this image. I've always kept a good distance from trucks with cargos like this on the road, I hope you too.
Car - Little Miss Strong
I saw this image from early post of Car's. I love the both quality of light and the colour of this image; both on the foreground and background. And the capture of the moment is priceless.
KC Jewel - Kite power
Johnny shot this shot at 1/1250 sec @ long end of the focal length - fast enough to freeze the kite hanger? on mid air - is quite impression. I hope Dave shout you a beer at least for the picture.
1st - Car - Little Miss Strong
2nd - Dorman - Horse Power
3rd - sara - Untitled
Challenge #173 - Strength - Revisit
Let's have another crack at this theme. In challenge #122 hosted by teekay, there were only three entries for this and none of them really came across teekay's high quality of judging duty. And since I borrowed the theme, I might as well borrow the description.
Please show me what have you got -Shots of large bridge supports, stone columns, Sumo wrestlers, kids showing off their biceps, heavy construction equipment moving mountains etc....
May the STRENGTH be with you !!!
