This is a little gravel maintenance yard on the edge of a large expanse of rolling oak trees and dry oats. I have seen this family of quail here a few times. It's amazing to watch both parents tending to their little ones. Even more fascinating is how often they check the sky!!! I guess the Cooper's Hawks must be a constant threat!!!

Nice images Mike. Our breeding season seems to be a bit behind yours. I have 3 pairs on my property and they are just starting to nest. I can tell because the males are starting to show up alone on many occasions. I'm anxious for pictures of the broods as well.

Great shots! I love quail. I have a family of them that live behind my house and it's fun for me and my family to watch them run from bush to bush.
