Windy day, good for Golden Gate shooting though it also blows a ton of crud into the eyes and the lens. Let's go wide....
I use DPP and the integrated lens correction, and really like it.

1Ds Mark III, 14mm f/2.8 II, ISO 100, f13

ISO 100, f11, and got a little too much of the sun but I'm trying to dial this thing in...

this is awe-inspiring. the only thing that would make this capture better is if it was mine. :p

thanks saiminyaku.

It is a challenge to keep dust off this lens. The lens open up opportunities in unexpected ways. It is a ton of fun. I appreciate the comment.

^ That's a great shot, chmod! I snowboarded there a couple years back. Indeed, the scenery is awe inspiring.

Thanks Double Negative.

We fully intend to return. Lake Louise was overrun with a World Cup Ski event, which on one hand made it colorful and interesting. But on the other hand it made it virtually impossible to take part! So we drove the 90 minutes into Banff and hit Mt Standish - Sunshine Village.

Ha, that's funny. We were there over a World Cup also ('round Thanksgiving here). The snow was ridiculously deep and powdery, especially at the summit. The bottom, especially the main trails exiting towards the lodges was a bit mobbed, with the whole right half of some trails closed off as part of the course. The "beaver tails" were yummy.

I wish I had more time to explore Banff, etc. I definitely want to return as well, this time during some warmer weather. Lake Louise is absolutely breathtaking to look at.
