Nice, reminds me of a nuke blast and mushroom cloud which gives one the sense of power these storms can possess.

Amazing capture. I am really wanting to convert my spare xti to IR I just can not seem to convince myself to make the leap. But this is a great capture.

An awesome shot. I think you did a great job in setting the exposure for a very challanging subject.

Very cool capture. I've just recently gotten an IR filter and am slowly getting the hang of it. Enough to know I'd like a converted camera, but that ain't in the cards (according to my bank account, at least).

Around how much does it cost to convert a camera. I have a XTI that is just sitting there in the bag. I would also like to know how long the camera is away for.

IIRC, you'll spend $300-400 and the camera will be gone a few weeks. There are at least three reputable places that do the conversion (which includes multiple options to choose from, ranging from simply removing the hot mirror to making it IR/UV capable, to IR only...).

When I converted my Digital Rebel through Lifepixel it cost me $350.00 and the camera was gone for about 2 weeks. I just checked and their price is up to $450.00 now. Isn't it funny how everyone you buy something from can raise the price but the consumer has no way of raising their paychecks...

Great shot! This is perfect for IR. I love the contrast.

not to hijack this thread, but has anyone in here converted it yourself by just buying the filter and taking the camera apart yourself? If so, where did you get your adhesive and the syringe needed to apply ir filter?
