This young woman was working on a stall at the Bossa Nova Festival at London's South Bank.

Taken with a Canon 40D plus 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens with Hoya UV filter, 1/250 sec at f/5.6, focused at 235mm.

Composition is not bad but I think you need more light. Considering you shot at 235mm I gather this is a candid and not a posed shot. Basically if you could get closer I would use a flash as a fill. If the flash is pointed somewhat towards her it should reflect off the wall behind her and act a little like a rim light. This will let you see the difference between her hair and the wall more distinctly. Not a bad photo by any means but definitely could use a little more work.

Thanks, Ken. I was quite a distance from her, shooting between a moving crowd so I had to take what I could get.
